For years, Professor Kempeneers was a world authority in the pharmaceutical sciences. At one point, he was even close to a breakthrough for a medicine to bring the dead back to life. So close… but he could never finish it. A few failed experiments drove him to despair. From a brilliant scholar to a mad quack in the blink of an eye. After the death of his wife, he retreated to a monastery and became deeply religious. Stories emerged. According to legend, he tried to complete his medicine until his last days through Christian and even satanic rituals. His young daughter broke off all contact because of this, and nothing was ever heard from her again. 

Today, he is buried in a tomb in the monastery where he spent his last days. His coffin is open to visitors, as a sort of pilgrimage site for followers of his theories. Be warned! The abbot of the monastery says that there is a curse on the crypt. According to the abbot, the spirit of Professor Kempeneers only allows visitors to leave who can complete his life’s mission. Some say it’s a fabrication to keep many onlookers away from the quiet monastery. Very effective, as to this day, no one has dared to enter the tomb… will you?
